A very useful remote control / mouse / keyboard that saves you the hassle of these three devices separately. Wireless, it has an efficient connection with 2.4Ghz radio frequency technology, it comes with a USB receiver dongle to plug into the device you want to control.
In black color, the Rii Mini i8 is quite small and light with a dimension of 14.7 cm in length, 9.8 cm in width and 1.9 cm in thickness, and a weight of 110 g. You won’t even feel it in your hands. Moreover, its dimensions mean that you can take it anywhere provided you are within 10 m of the device to be controlled. It is therefore not bulky at all. It is a very practical device for a person who often travels the roads. But we must not forget about the receiver, given that it is very small. But it can be plugged in anywhere.

Android box compatibility
This remote control is compatible with an Android TV box. The Rii Mini i8 supports the Android OS which most Android boxes on the market are equipped with. So you won’t have to worry when you want to use several devices at the same time with the same remote control.
Magazine Compatibility
It is possible to connect the Rii mini i8 with a laptop or desktop computer, a tablet, a Smartphone, a MiniPC, an HTPC and a console including the XboxOne and 360 as well as the PlayStation 3 and 4. In short, many devices are compatible with this device provided they work with one of these operating systems: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android, Raspberry Pi, Xbox and PlayStation.
Smart TV compatibility
The Rii mini i8 remote control can be used with a smart TV. With the keys that are the same as on a regular remote control, it allows you to control your smart TV, but with its multiple functions. You will navigate with the mouse and you will easily use the keyboard.
Kodi Compatibility
This keyboard is also compatible with Kodi which is obviously very fluid and practical if you navigate through the menus of the multimedia platform. As it has all the classic keys of a remote control, it will satisfy you for the settings menus. Thanks to the mouse functionality, Kodi is even more manageable with Rii Mini i8.

The keyboard
The keyboard looks like the one we use in the office, with the alphanumeric keys AZERTY, the function buttons F1 to F12, the directional arrows, the “fn” function to activate the buttons in blue, and icing on the cake, you can even access the third character with the “AltGr” button.
Also, the keyboard has two circles on either side of the touchpad. On the left side you have the circular button to control volumes, fast forward and rewind and pause/play in the middle. You also have, aligned to the left of your touchpad, four buttons to access your messaging, the “mute” volume, the left click of your integrated mouse. Then, on the right, the four “magnifying glass” buttons to search, “home” to return to the beginning of your screen, italic “e” to surf the net and finally the “right click” button to activate it with the mouse.
For information, the right and left clicks can also be controlled with the two buttons aligned to the far left of your Rii Mini i8. You can type your texts easily with the Rii Mini i8 which easily replaces your traditional keyboard and mouse. The touchpad is adjustable with a resolution of 1000 dpi. A little worse than the Logitech T650 Touchpad .
The three buttons above the function keys first indicate the battery level. When the LED is blue, it means the remote is charging, it flashes when the remote is weak and needs to be charged. Then the battery charge indicator turns red when it is charging and when it no longer lights up. You unplug the USB cable. And finally the signal that indicates that the device is connected with the keyboard.
Ease of use
This keyboard is very practical and ergonomic. You will quickly become familiar with the handling. Plus, with the rubber underneath, it won’t skid on slippery surfaces. So you can put it wherever you go, on the table, on your thigh, or just between your two hands.

Like all remote controls, the usage time of the Rii Mini i8 depends on how it is handled. But in any case, it is a fairly robust and well-designed piece of hardware so that you can use it for as long as possible.

The Rii Mini i8 is rechargeable with a USB cable to plug into a miniUSB port on the keyboard. The battery is made of Li-Po and can be charged after 3 hours. If it stays on standby, it can last up to 700 hours.

How do I pair my RII i8?
On the Fire TV Stick navigate to the Add Bluetooth Devices screen. You get there by going to Settings – Controllers and Bluetooth Devices – Other Bluetooth Devices – Add Bluetooth Devices. Once you’re at the screen, press the pair button on the keyboard.
Why is my Rii keyboard not working?
Re-sync your keyboard and the USB receiver
Try re-establishing the wireless connectivity with the USB receiver. You can do so by switching off the keyboard and/or the USB receiver if the USB receiver has a switch. Alternatively, disconnect the receiver and insert it to a different USB port.
Verdict
The Rii mini i8 is very easy to install. Connect the dongle to a USB port on your electronic device and after a while, your TV box and the keyboard, which you will have turned on in passing, will be connected.
