Prende TV to relaunch with free, premium tiers – IPTV Live Streaming

Univision says it will expand its Prende TV streaming service to include a new premium tier at some point next year.

The relaunched streaming service, which will continue under the same name, will roll out in the United States and Latin America. It will offer content from the Spanish language broadcaster’s library of content along with that of Televisa, one of the biggest media outlets in Mexico. Televisa and Univision agreed to merge some media assets in April.

The premium tier of service will include around 6,000 hours of Spanish-language movies and television shows, including approximately three dozen original productions that will be distributed by Prende TV within its first year after relaunch.

Prende TV’s free tier will largely serve as a window-shop service to the premium plan, offering a handful of movies and shows from the Univision and Televisa content libraries. It will also launch with some live sports and a streaming 24-hour news channel.

Univision has not said how much the premium tier of service will cost or when it will be offered. A Univision spokesperson said additional information on the company’s streaming plans would be announced at a later date.
