If you’re well-versed in streaming platforms, chances are that you’ve already heard about YuppTV. If you haven’t, please feel free to stick around because we’re going to help you learn a lot about this platform.
YuppTV is one of the best options if you’re looking for cheap and quality streaming service on your desktop, mobile, or your tablet. It’s primarily a network for Indians who live abroad in countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean, and New Zealand. Quite recently, its reach has been expanded to Singapore and the even Middle East.
The list of countries where the network is available includes Fiji, Europe, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, South Africa, and Nigeria along with the names mentioned above.
What is YuppTV
YuppTV is an Atlanta, Georgia-based OTT service provider which started its service in the US to cater to Indian audiences seeking Live TV channels on the internet. In most first-world countries, Indian channels are mostly not available and even if there are a few, they are pretty expensive. Thus, Yupptv identified the pain point and started the network to provide Indian viewers with Internet TV service comprising Live TV, Catch-up content, and On-demand movies among other stuff.
Why should you stream on YuppTV?
There are many reasons why I would advise you to stream on YuppTV. Before explaining those, I want to summarize a few points before that to give you a fair understanding of this streaming service:
Quantity and Quality of Content
With Yupp TV you get access to more than 180 channels across the world in over 10+ languages with unlimited blockbuster movies from Bollywood. It offers 10 days of Catch-up TV and provides classic TV shows such as ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’.
Seamless Push Media Content
YuppTV meets the compatibility standards set by leading streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix. An aspect that puts the service in a league of its own is the cutting-edge technology that doesn’t require satellite connection, cable box, DVB, or any Installation. All you need to stream content is an active internet connection. Once you have that, you can stream YuppTV from not just your PC or mobile phone but also your Smart TVs and devices such as Chromecast, Roku, and Fire TV.
No Contract
While the majority of the streaming service providers like to tie you up in a 12 or 24 months contract, YuppTV begs to differ. Not only does it have a five-minute registration process but also it has no contracts or commitments from the user’s end. You can subscribe and unsubscribe at any moment and you wouldn’t be asked to pay the remaining amount.
Store & Media Center
With a Yupp TV subscription, you get access to unlimited content on the store. It has a media center where you can access all the content on your USB device and cast it on your big screen. By using the YuppTV Box (find more details below) which is Wi-Fi enabled, you can stream a movie without needing to connect to it since you already have the content in your USB.
Design
Yupp TV’s interface is as good as any A-list streaming service provider. In my opinion, it tops the likes of AT&T and Hotstar. The grey-orange-white combination flows evenly throughout the website. Each page feels cohesive and you can have a seamless experience when it comes to browsing.
When you visit the homepage, you get category options such as ‘Live TV’, ‘Catch-up TV’, ‘Movies’, ‘TV Shows’, ‘Scope’, and ‘Devices’ on the left.
On the right, you can find a ‘Search bar’, ‘Packages’, ‘Signup’, and ‘Login’ options which is quite standard in terms of the category bar. Its hero section is simply the most unique of all streaming services I’ve reviewed thus far.
Not only does it have a responsive banner on the left but it also has live-streaming news playing in a small window on the right. Thus, the hero section is divided 80:20 with 80% sliders (banners) and 20% live video. As you scroll down, you’ll find sections such as ‘Trending Live’, ‘Best of Yupp Studios’, ‘Popular Live TV’, ‘YuppFlix Movies’, and ‘Popular Catchup’.
As you click on the Live TV page in the header menu, you’re taken to a new page that has a well-designed TV schedule. Similar is the case with catch-up content. The leading channels that feature in these categories include NDTV, RT & NSF.
Content
Yupp TV in a short space of time has become one of the largest online TV platforms with an expansive content library. With over 200 channels, you get the best of regional and Bollywood content.
Its massive content library features genres such as Comedy, Sports, News, Romance, Spiritual, Crime, Drama, Entertainment, and Music. Yupp TV’s movies and TV shows are a part of YuppFlix which seemingly draws its name from ‘Netflix’.
Some of the most popular channels segregated as per the languages include:

Some of the popular movie titles include ‘Kaappaan’, ‘Petromax’, ‘Aruvam’, ‘Magamuni’, and ‘Arjun Reddy.’
Desktop/Mobile experience
All of the channels above are available in high quality. So, whether you stream using a Firestick or Chromecast, the experience is going to be amazing. I’ve streamed Yupp TV on my Google Pixel 2 and Samsung LED via Chromecast and I have to say that I love the website and the app. It’s similar to the Sony LIV and Hotstar experience but better. Geo restriction is the only drawback on the app as if you purchased a pack in India and try to stream that in UAE, you won’t be able to access the content. And that’s obvious because the plans and pricing are different in both regions. (Quite standard on most of the streaming services).
Excellent Customer Support
The reason why I felt I needed to add this in this section is that the customer service was impeccable. Realizing that I cannot stream the pack I bought in India while I was in UAE, I tried to connect with customer support. And I have to say that they answered my query within five minutes. There’s a 24×7 service available and the support team is always ready to help.
Plans & Pricing
There are two plans available on the website: – YuppTV Hindi has 128 channels which cost $6.99/month – YuppTV Hindi+Hotstar has 162 channels and requires a yearly subscription of $79.99 If you’re in the US, these are the only two packages you’d see.
Suggestions I have for YuppTV
Though Yupp TV’s partnership with Hotstar does ensure that there’s sports content on the network, it’s not enough. I feel they should tie up with other sports channels and other premium channels to advance their network further.
Alternative of YuppTV
- The Roku Channel
- BVN (NL) (BE)
- OKLiveTV
- FomnyTV
- StreamLive
- Time 4 Tv
Conclusion
Yupp TV’s userbase is growing constantly and that’s evident in its recent investment injection from Emerald Media. If the investors are positive, I don’t see why we as subscribers shouldn’t be. The network is growing and at the back of the $50 million investment, Yupp TV is only going to get bigger and better.
